Saint Henry District High School is dedicated to the Fine Arts. It is one of our five pillars of success, and as such we strive to offer a wide variety of experiences in the Arts to our students. We are blessed to employ professionals who work with our talented students to hone their skills and to cultivate a passion for sharing their gifts with others. We have thriving programs in Visual Arts, Music, and Theatre that we want to share with our community. Therefore, we welcome you to join us for all SHDHS Fine Arts presentations that are open to the public, as well as those events sponsored by our guests in the community.
We welcome members of the community to submit an inquiry regarding the use of our facilities. Thanks to the generous support of our alumni, parents, friends, and neighbors, we have a variety of amenities to offer for rental (listed below). Drees Homes Auditorium
The crown jewel of the Fine Arts Building, this large auditorium is used regularly by the students for the celebration of Holy Mass, as well as theater productions and all-school assemblies. We are proud to offer the use of this 650-seat auditorium, complete with proscenium stage, orchestra pit, sound/light control center, and many more features. Plan your next play, conference, meeting, or presentation in this gorgeous new theater.
Ed and Betty Dusing Black Box Theater
Like most Black Box theaters, this is a versatile space. This space is used during the school day by our Drama classes, for class meetings during FLEX Time, and other presentations. Our guests who choose to rent this space can set it up for theatrical productions, rehearsals for larger shows in the main auditorium, use as a pre-function space, or for smaller presentations.
Alumni Lobby
Our lobby is the perfect gathering space for guests to mingle before a production or presentation. In this spacious area, you can entertain guests with hors d’oeuvres and refreshments, or simpler fare from our concession stand. The south-facing glass doors and windows provide excellent natural lighting to elevate the ambiance of any event. Additionally, there is room for visual displays to serve as conversation topics for guests.
Wilson Family Art Gallery
This beautiful gallery is adjacent to the Black Box theater and is visible from the main entrance. Most of the time, student and alumni artwork will be on display to celebrate talent within our school community. However, guest artwork can be displayed for short-term engagements, or for weeks at a time while other events are held throughout the building. We welcome guests to present full shows here or merely submit individual works for display alongside our student/alumni pieces.
